Itinerary – Peru Essence Journey – 8 Nights

Upon arrival at Jorge Chávez International Airport, a Sacred Valley Cusco Tour host will be waiting to welcome you and escort you to your private transfer to your hotel in Lima.

Lima, known as the City of Kings and declared the Gastronomic Capital of the Americas, is a destination where the past and present coexist in perfect harmony. Its colonial mansions, baroque churches, and historic convents contrast with modern waterfront districts and pre-Columbian huacas that still stand.

You'll have the rest of the day free to rest after your trip or, if you prefer, take a stroll through Miraflores, one of the city's most iconic neighborhoods. From Parque del Amor, you can enjoy a unique sunset over the cliffs of the Costa Verde, accompanied by the sound of the ocean.

After breakfast, our guide will pick you up from your hotel to begin the Colonial and Modern Lima Tour, where you'll discover the best of the city in a single tour.

Lima's Historic Center: We'll walk through the Plaza Mayor, surrounded by the majestic Lima Cathedral, the Government Palace, and the Municipal Palace. Every corner of the square preserves its colonial essence and will transport you back centuries.

San Francisco Convent and its Catacombs: A masterpiece of Baroque architecture and one of the most fascinating places in the historic center. Inside, you'll find impressive underground galleries that were used as a cemetery during the colonial era.

San Isidro: A residential and financial district, where we'll visit Huaca Huallamarca, a pre-Incan archaeological site that rises in the middle of the modern city.

Miraflores and Costa Verde: We'll walk along its main avenues until we reach the Miraflores Malecón, with spectacular ocean views. We'll also visit the Parque del Amor, decorated with colorful mosaics and sculptures, a romantic symbol overlooking the sea.

At the end of the tour, our transportation will take you back to your hotel to rest and prepare to continue your journey through Peru.

At the beginning of the day, our Sacred Valley Cusco Tour team will pick you up from your hotel in Lima to transfer you to the airport for your flight to Arequipa.

Upon arrival, a host will be waiting at the airport to welcome you and escort you to your private transfer to your hotel.

Known as the "White City," Arequipa dazzles with its volcanic stone architecture and the imposing profile of the Misti Volcano that dominates the skyline. The city was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO thanks to its beautiful historic center.

In the afternoon, we will pick you up from your accommodation for a half-day city tour. We will begin at the Plaza de Armas, surrounded by colonial arcades and presided over by the majestic Arequipa Cathedral. We'll continue to the fascinating Monastery of Santa Catalina, considered a "city within a city," with cloisters, cobblestone streets, and colorful courtyards that for centuries were home to nuns from noble families.

At the end of the tour, return to your hotel to rest and enjoy some free time in the city.

Very early after breakfast, our team will pick you up from your accommodation to begin the trek to the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world.

During the journey, we will cross high-altitude landscapes and make panoramic stops at iconic sites:

Pampa Cañahuas, the natural habitat of wild vicuñas.

Patapampa, a natural viewpoint located at over 4,700 meters above sea level with spectacular views of volcanoes and snow-capped mountains.

Possible visit to the Mollepunco Caves, which preserve prehistoric petroglyphs, and the unusual Callalli Castles, rock formations resembling medieval fortresses.

Later, we will descend into the valley, where the landscape transforms into agricultural terraces and small Andean villages. Before arriving at your accommodation, you'll have the option to relax in the hot springs of La Calera, surrounded by a unique natural setting.

The day culminates with an included dinner and overnight stay in the Colca Canyon area, preparing for the next day's experience: a visit to the famous Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint.

Very early in the morning, our team will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to the famous Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, the most emblematic spot in the Colca Canyon. From here, you will have the opportunity to observe the majestic flight of the Andean condors, which soar above a breathtaking landscape at an altitude of over 4,500 meters.

In addition to the unique experience with these birds, you will appreciate the cultural legacy of the ancient Collaguas, visible in the pre-Inca ruins, cemeteries, and archaeological remains found in the area.

We will continue exploring the valley to learn about the way of life of the local communities, who keep their agricultural tradition alive on the fertile farming terraces surrounding the canyon.

Before returning, your guide will take you to one of the region's artisan workshops, where nearly a thousand artisans transform ancestral weaving techniques into authentic works of art: intricate embroidery and colorful shawls that reflect the valley's identity.

After the included lunch, we will return to Arequipa, where you will have the afternoon free to rest at your hotel.

After breakfast, our team will pick you up from your hotel to transfer you to the airport for a short but spectacular flight over the snow-capped Andes to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire.

Upon arrival, a host will be waiting at the airport to escort you to your private transfer to the hotel and assist you with check-in.

In the afternoon, we will pick you up from your accommodation to enjoy the Cusco and Nearby Ruins Tour. This tour combines the best of Inca and colonial architecture, visiting iconic sites such as:

The Plaza de Armas and the imposing Cusco Cathedral.

The Koricancha or Temple of the Sun, one of the most important religious centers of the Inca Empire.

Nearby archaeological sites include Qenqo, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay, and the majestic Sacsayhuamán fortress, famous for its enormous stone walls carved with unique precision.

At the end of the tour, return to your hotel in Cusco to rest and prepare for the next adventures in the heart of the Sacred Valley.

After breakfast, our team will pick you up from your hotel to begin a tour of the fertile fields of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, one of the most important agricultural areas of the Empire.

Our first stop will be the picturesque colonial town of Pisac, famous for its artisan market. Here, residents of nearby communities come each week to offer their alpaca textiles, silver jewelry, and colorful handicrafts. You will have free time to explore, take photographs, and practice the traditional art of bartering with local artisans.

We will continue to the imposing Ollantaytambo Archaeological Complex, an Inca construction that served both religious and military functions. This site includes temples, agricultural terraces, and an urban area that still preserves its original layout. Its strategic importance is evident in the walls and towers that surround the fortress.

The town of Ollantaytambo is known as the "Living Inca Village" because its inhabitants maintain ancestral customs inherited from the Inca era.

At noon, we will enjoy a typical lunch at a Casa Hacienda located on the banks of the Urubamba River, surrounded by a charming natural landscape.

In the afternoon, return to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

Very early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel to begin the most anticipated excursion: Machu Picchu. The trip combines bus transportation, a panoramic train, and another bus ride until you reach the entrance to the citadel.

Discovered in 1911 by American explorer Hiram Bingham, Machu Picchu remained hidden among the jungle and mountains for more than 400 years. This astonishing historical sanctuary was the refuge of the Inca Pachacútec and is considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

During the guided tour, you will visit the two main areas of the citadel:

The agricultural area, made up of terraces that served as a farming system and supported the slopes. The urban area, where the temples, plazas, and royal mausoleums are located, built with a precision in stone that continues to amaze modern archaeologists.

In addition to being a center of worship and astronomical observation, Machu Picchu offers a special connection to the Andean worldview and its spiritual traditions.

At the end of the visit, return by train and bus to Cusco, where you will arrive in the afternoon to rest at your hotel.

At the scheduled time, our team will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the Cusco airport, where you will board your flight to Lima and your international connection back home.

It will be time to say goodbye to this wonderful country, taking with you not only photographic memories, but also the experience of the Andean landscapes, the warmth of its people, and the cultural richness of Peru.

Share the memories of this unforgettable trip with your family and friends, because Peru will always have its doors open to welcome you back.
